Things to Do on Oahu
- Relax at the beach! Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach Park are close by, but they tend to get crowded quickly. Visit Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach on the Windward side to experience gentle waters, soft sands, windsurfing and kayaking to the Mokulua Islands. Drive to the North Shore to Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay to gape at surfers on big winter waves and to greet green sea turtles at Laniakea Beach. Watch how the experienced bodysurfers make it look easy at Sandy Beach and Makapu'u Beach.
- Hike up Diamond Head Crater for great views, through the bamboo to Manoa Falls or past albatross nests at Kaena Point.
- Ponder history at the USS Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor.
- Experience Polynesia at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
- Snorkel with colorful fishes at Hanauma Bay.
- To learn about Hawaiian history, visit the Iolani Palace and the Bishop Museum.
- Take a drive around the island; even the locals like to make this trip on occasion. You will see sandy beaches, verdant mountains, offshore islands, sparkling waters and pineapple plantations.
- Golf to your heart's content at one of many courses such as the Ko Olina Golf Club, Waikele Golf Club and Koolau Golf Club.
- Tour Kualoa Ranch, where a number of movies and TV shows have been filmed, including "Lost", "Jurassic Park" and "Magnum P.I."
- For intensive shopping, check out the Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ward Centre, Ward Warehouse and the Aloha Tower Marketplace.
- Watch your hair fly straight up into the air at the scenic Nuuanu Pali Lookout.
- Take a whale or a dolphin watch cruise.
