Hello

Brad Dominy

Google executive frustrated by Java, C++ complexity

A lot has changed in computers over the last 20 years, with amazing increases in speed and capacity; however, an area that has not changed nearly as rapidly is with the languages developers use to write programs. Some of this is understandable, as people do not want to lose their current code base and start over from scratch with something new and unproven, but Google's Rob Pike speaking at the O'Reilly Open Source Conference made a case for why the industry needs to break free from those restraints and adopt new languages to create better software much more quickly. Check it out.
